The Final Fantasy VI Advance is a remake of the SNES Final Fantasy entry. It is GBA game in the RPG genre. It is published by Square Enix and developed Square Enix for Game Boy Advance platform. It is designed to have a complete make-over to improve the visual designs for the GBA. New elements have been added to the game as well. These new elements such as new dungeons, new job classes provide unexpected surprises for both old-school players and newcomers. In this game, the combat system has been expanded to include real-time and turn-based elements. Hence, the strategic nature of the battles is increased as well. As for the storyline, the game features a wonderful story and a huge cast of memorable characters. In addition, issues of character relationships and tragedy have been added throughout this game. It is suitable for player from age 10 and onwards. It is available in single player mode.

Having said that, it’s not all fighting and killing, there is also the usual RPG elements to indulge in as well. Chatting with the local people picking up gossip, solving puzzles, marching into homes hoovering up peoples hard earned items, taking the slightly more honest route with some shopping and generally getting lost. Graphically Final Fantasy VI Advance is certainly showing its age. Bear in mind back in the day of the Super Nintendo (SNES) the graphics in this game were pretty nice. The lack of upgrades is disappointing, especially at the thirty US dollars price tag this game is being sold for. As far as GBA games go the graphics are pretty good. There is a lot of fighting where the player’s team is on one side and attacks, and then the enemies on the other side register a hit.... Read more

You might remeber this one as FFIII, but if you don't, no worries, it just happens to be one of the best Final Fantasy games in the series. This portable version captures the original perferctly except for some annoying (and unnecessary) retooling of the music and a touch of editing here and there. Otherwise it is a perfect port and a perfect format to rediscover this classic game with its timeless depiction of a battle between magic and technology. Read more
