Dragon Ball: Advanced Adventure

Portable Review
19 September 2006
  • Excerpt: Color me surprised – we finally have a really good Dragon Ball adventure game. Legacy of Goku 1, 2 and Buu's Fury plain sucked, and GT Transformation wasn’t much better. But thanks to Banpresto, we finally have a great Dragon Ball game. Instead of following the Saiyan Saga to the Buu Saga, Advanced Adventure does not even delve into Dragon Ball Z, focusing exclusively on the plot of Dragon Ball, although taking a few liberties in the process.

Dragon Ball: Advanced Adventure Review

GameSpot
20 June 2006
  • Summary: Dragon Ball: Advanced Adventure is a fun, diverse action game that does the license proud.
  • Pros: Characters have a healthy arsenal of attacks and combinations, Diverse level layouts, Flying nimbus levels are fun to watch, Plenty of characters to unlock, Art and music are faithful to Toriyama's original work
  • Cons: The first two levels are exceedingly dull, One-on-one matches mainly involve button mashing, No co-op mode

  • Excerpt: I've never been a big fan of Dragon Ball Z, but I have had friends who were, so I have been remotely aware of the fact that there was an earlier series in the franchise simply called Dragon Ball. Atari evidently knew that too, and they have gone back to the Dragon Ball days for their latest licensed game based on the Dragon Ball Z universe, Dragon Ball: Advanced Adventure.
