Classic NES Series: Bomberman
21 June 2004
Excerpt: What are the first things that come to mind when thinking of a Bomberman game? Obviously bombs, crazy power-ups, the little white and blue fella himself and, of course, frantic multiplayer action. Amazingly enough, the first game in the series, Bomberman for the NES, has no multiplayer modes whatsoever. This is why Nintendo’s decision to include it in their Classic NES Series for the GBA is a decidedly peculiar one.
Excerpt: These days, Bomberman is everywhere. The chubby little boom fiend is most famous for starring in a string of pretty amazing five-player multiplayer games for the TurboGrafx-16 back in the early 90s. But Bomberman's origins are actually on the NES, where he appeared back in 1987. Now, that original NES game has been rereleased as part of the Classic NES Series, which repackages old NES games for the Game Boy Advance.
