Baseball Advance

Game Vortex
8 May 2002
  • Excerpt: As far as baseball games go, Baseball Advance is about as good as it is going to get on the GBA. Player models are big, detailed and fluidly animated. I loved seeing how many 'extra' details like the pitcher breathing heavy or shrugging off signals got thrown in. The sound is also top-notch, complete with everything but commentary (for obvious reasons). Overall, this is an excellent presentation. Baseball Advance is pretty bare on the gameplay modes.

Baseball Advance

Game Over Online
25 April 2002
  • Excerpt: The last time I played a baseball game on another platform I was utterly overwhelmed by the complexity of America's favorite pastime and in the end, spent more time in the home run derby option than anything else. Baseball Advance rekindles that arcade feeling of baseball not only with its top-notch visuals on the GBA, but also meticulous care in crafting a game around the handheld format to provide fun, first and foremost, rather than realism.

Baseball Advance Review

GameSpot
27 March 2002
  • Excerpt: Developed by Sega and published by THQ, Baseball Advance draws its influences from a number of previous Sega baseball games, including World Series Baseball and Home Run King. Although it has fewer features than other baseball video games, Baseball Advance is both fun and impressive. All 30 MLB teams are included, as are a majority of their players. Rosters are current as of the off-season, but a number of notable benchwarmers are absent.
