. The courses matches the levels played in the bear and bird’s past adventures, and in the end—it works out as a great tribute to the past Banjo games. Of course, if you taken part in any of Banjo’s adventures on the N64, Banjo Pilot remains a solid racing game. Just don’t be surprised when your plane flies over grass and it suddenly slows down. Considering how long Rare has taken to finish Banjo Pilot, it’s a disappointment to see that the company was unable provide a new take on the whole kart racing genre. Given the ability to go up and down, it seemed like the game would automatically provide a “wow” factor for those of us that already own Mario Kart and its multiple clones. However, despite being more colorful, being able to dogfight, and being Banjo-ified, Banjo Pilot bears nothing new. Read more

It's hard not to like Banjo Pilot simply because it manages to be maintain a fun factor, even given the fact that the game is far too easy for its own good. Graphically, the game is wonderful, the controls are quite user-friendly, and the dogfighting is incredibly entertaining. However, if you're looking for a challenging kart racer, one that will have you cursing the computer out time and time again, than this is certainly not the game for you. The AI lacks any real... I originally previewed this game back in the summer of 2001 when it was called Diddy Kong Pilot. A lot has changed since then. Rare has left the right arm of Nintendo to assume the position over at Microsoft, Diddy Kong has been removed in favor of the Rare trademarked "Banjo the bear" and the GBA has been upgraded into the SP and a new handheld system has arrived on the scene. It's been a wild 3 and a half years. Read more

Overall, Banjo Pilot is a game that should be avoided. Single players beware; there is little fun to be had here. Playing with a friend might provide you with a little more entertainment, but with Mario Kart already available on the GBA, you'd be in much better hands with Mario and Co. Read more
