  • Conclusion: The soundtrack is very anime-esque and very enjoyable to listen to. The sound effects are quite detailed and fitting.

Expert Review

Game Freaks 365
17 December 2005
  • Excerpt: Tezuka Osamu's Astro Boy has to be one of the greatest anime magnum opuses ever created. I have long loved the entire series, but with the news that two Astro Boy games were announced, I felt unsettled with the possibility that the games might bring shame to my beloved classic. Just look at the Dragonball series. Over 30 games, yet only few deserve the title of being a Dragonball game.

Astro Boy: Omega Factor

Portable Review

  • Excerpt: To tell you the truth, I had never seen anything branded with Astro Boy until a few years ago. Even now, I really know nothing about the series except that it’s a Japanese cartoon starring a robotic, young looking boy called, Astro Boy. That’s my background on Astro Boy, and as you can see, I know nothing about it. I don’t quite know what attracted me to the game, I was in need of a new challenge and from word of mouth, and I heard this game was pretty awesome.

Astro Boy: Omega Factor

Nintendo World Report
19 September 2004
  • Summary: Don’t judge a game by its half-naked hero.
  • Pros: Long (for a Treasure game) with high replayability, Quality brawler and shooter styles of gameplay and control, Unexpected attention to plot and franchise integration
  • Cons: Mild slowdown, Moments of Engrish (“Are you going to standing against me?”), Mostly unremarkable sound effects, Ugly 2x and 3x pixel scaling for larger versions of enemies

Project COE
17 August 2004
  • Conclusion: Don't worry though, Treasure has left behind plenty of reason to replay and experience these wonderful boss fights again. You'd want to play through again even without all the nifty unlockable extras that are available; the game is that good. First off though, the game's real ending remains hidden until you've trounced evil at least twice.

Astro Boy: Omega Factor

Sega-Universe
