Ace Combat: Advance

Game Vortex
28 August 2005
  • Excerpt: While Ace Combat: Advance sports some flashy graphics, its mediocre gameplay and lack of an interesting story (the true hallmark of the series) prevents it from being anything other than a bad birthday gift. I continue to be impressed with the presentation the little Game Boy Advance can dish out. Ace Combat: Advance certainly gives an attractive performance, though this doesn’t save it from its major faults.

  • Summary: This portable shoot-'em-up is playable and at times fun, but it's missing everything that made the console Ace Combat games so likable.
  • Pros: Easy to play and control, Free-roam environments spice-up combat
  • Cons: Has no cinematic punch or story, Too few missions and planes, Missions and enemies present no challenge

Expert Review

13 August 2006
