Summary: My oldest son has trouble staying attentive. We feel the Playstation has brought us a long way since Christmas, 1998. He can focus on the game for extended periods of time (approximately 45 minutes). It has also helped him improve his motor skills. Worth investing.
Pros: Develops motor skills and an attention span in children who have difficulties.
Summary: This is my second Sony TV and I'm as delighted with this one as I was with the first Sony TV I bought. The first one finally gave out after almost 12 years of heavy usage. Repairs have been minimal. If Sony quality continues at this level, I can't imagine every buying any other brand of TV again.
Summary: When this console cam out it out sold every console for years. The games was on Cd not cartridge. Even though slower loading but the games graphics was better the game player was better and the overall was much better than any console around that time. The best controller to date when it came out. fits just in your hands. The games was awesome. Even though now it is a bit old only good for young kids or collectors. But this is a true classic console.
Summary: Now a days you can pick up a PS1 for dirt cheap, although I dont know why you would when a PS2 can play them just as good. At the time I thought they were a little too expensive. My brother got one for his birthday when we were in middle school and we loved it. Tekken 3 and Final Fantasy VIII (My favorite Final Fantasy of all time) were our favorites. I guess for me its the memories of a console that make it valuable.
Excerpt: "...the first version of the Sony Playstation wasn't necessarily pretty. This system was pretty much a gray box with two control slots and two memory card slots. There was later a new slimmer design that released right after the debut of the Playstation 2 and it was a much nicer and more compact design. The smaller design had a few features added to it, the most noticeable was a small LCD screen that could be connected to it, which was great because you ...
Pros: Great Game Library, Great Graphics Overall, and Good Multiplayer .
Excerpt: "Really I keep this unit more for nostalgia as it is no longer needed with Playstations backward compatability and it's graphics are old and dated and the games are only 32 bit compared to the systems of today. But when this baby came out it was a show stopper, the games were addictive, large and thought out, sprawling maps to explore great graphics and sound and a revolutionary controller. I have had the exact same playstation one working since ...

The new format heralded a new and exciting generation, one which gameing companys could not afford to overlook. Videogames were at this point all cartridge based. Cartridges allowed fast data access but held a very limited capacity and where very expensive to produce. The ...

Excerpt: "...games machine. The famous 32bit Sony Playstation console. How was the Sony Playstation conceived? Well according to legend Nintendo of Japan wanted to develop a CD drive add-on for their 16bit Super Nintendo console to compete with the Sega Mega Drive's CD add-on. They decided to work with Sony and have them create the CD drive for Nintendo's console. But for some cosmic reason Nintendo defaulted on their contract with Sony and asked Philips to ...
