Excerpt: I first got it in 1996 for my christmas I was 6 years old when all my friends had it, I nagged my mum to get it, my favorite game at that time was spyro the dragon! Me and my sister would play it for hours. Now that I look back at the games I used to play the graphics where amazing for it's release and the stereo sound made it even better! I think that if I could I would still buy one right now! But my missus isn't letting me!
Excerpt: This marked Sony's debut in the world of Video Games and what a great debut it was with the Playstation. I review in five different categories, Design, Controller, Graphics, Multiplayer, and Game Library. The design of the first version of the Sony Playstation wasn't necessarily pretty. This system was pretty much a gray box with two control slots and two memory card slots.
Pros: Great Game Library, Great Graphics Overall, and Good Multiplayer .
Seems Like Too Long Ago I First Set My Eyes On This!

Excerpt: After producing a quick review of the Playstation 2, I thought it necessary to take a deeper look at its predecessor, the original Playstation! A white/grey plastic coating protects a relatively powerless internal specification, which in todays world is completely outdated. It is true however, that the casing looks pretty good. You could even describe it as slightly futuristic in design.
Excerpt: I owned a Playstation when they were new, I didn't buy mine right away though. Instead I was sensible and waited for a 1st then 2nd price drop when I bought mine in 1996. New games were still being released pretty much every week so you had a huge choice. I've had my current Playstation for over 8 years now having bought it off Ebay with a few games, a memory card and an extra controller for under £30.
Pros: Easy to find, cheap, tons of games available
Excerpt: Really I keep this unit more for nostalgia as it is no longer needed with Playstations backward compatability and it's graphics are old and dated and the games are only 32 bit compared to the systems of today. But when this baby came out it was a show stopper, the games were addictive, large and thought out, sprawling maps to explore great graphics and sound and a revolutionary controller.
Excerpt: Birth, Betrayal and murder (possibly) In 1979 Phillips and Sony joined forces to try and create a new Digital audio format. It took until late 1982 for the new Compact Disc to reach the market. The new format heralded a new and exciting generation, one which gameing companys could not afford to overlook. Videogames were at this point all cartridge based. Cartridges allowed fast data access but held a very limited capacity and where very expensive to produce.
Pros: The start of the golden age of games .
Cons: No reason to get one,all games can be played on next gen consoles
Excerpt: I got the ps1 for christmas when I 6 or 7 years old. It didn't break down until I was nearly 16, when we decided to get the PS2. In it's day, the PS1 was one of very few games consoles, and it was probably at the top end of the market. The PS1 saw the rise of many great games, such as the Final Fantasy Series, and Tekken.
Excerpt: I got the playstation about 4 years ago, my mum surprised me after school. When I got home it was there waiting for me :-). for the next few months i couldn't stop playing it. The games i got with it were Fifa Road to World Cup 98, V-Rally, and Bubsy 3D. These are the games that i played the most during my time with the PS1, i still have it just dont play it as much. I will write all the games i have for the Playstation and write my opinion on each one...
Pros: Lots of good games, still very popular
Cons: graphics aren't that impressive, lots of glitches in games
Excerpt: It's a darn shame that I am writing this review in this day and age - when next generation consoles are already out and chewing up the masses with their amazing graphics and sound capabilities. But before they came to fruitation there was the console that set the standards of how to be a winning games machine. The famous 32bit Sony Playstation console. How was the Sony Playstation conceived?
Pros: Classic champion of consoles, has loads of great games, amazing value for money at the moment
Cons: Dated graphics and audio by today's standards, loading times
Excerpt: Well, what can I say, I bought my Playststion for when I had a few minutes spare time from doing my homework, but once I was on it, I couldn't come off! I was so addicted to it the first time I used it, and I always got shouted at for not doing my homework! Sometimes after coming home from school, I would even find my mum or dad on it, and they wouldn't let me have a go. Then my little brother started to play on it, and now he won't let anybody on it!
