Summary: After years I had this system it seems really good. Graphics are great gaming is good and using the internet alone is good. The only major issue is the PSN will be kicking me out very frequently for everything I do that involves the PSN which the issue is the UPnP which is directly built into the system. I would recommend this system if you don't plan on playing online and just a casual person playing story lines. But it is really good system just the PS network is bad.
Excerpt: This system is great if you don't have any playstation 2 games that are blue discs, not to be confused with blue-ray. Basically if you don't want to install final fantasy online, or play certain ps2 and ps1 games then your set. If you plan to install FFXI or play games like gauntlet dark legacy (one of my kids favorites) then get the 60 gig version.
If it had backwards compatibility it would be perfect.

Excerpt: The Playstation 3 has beautiful graphics. The bluetooth controls are easy to use. The decision to have full functional USB ports is great and allows additions such as keyboards. The one down fall is the poor choice by Sony in removing the backwards compatibility from the original PS3. I would list it as the greatest system made to this point, except for this flaw.
Excerpt: The playstation 3 isn't a bad piece of hardware it is grossly overpriced. There aren't enough good games, at least games that i can't already play on x box 360. Mgs 4 is the one bright spot though.
Not all 80 GB's are backwards compatible. Didn't know that!

Excerpt: I bought this because everyone said that the 80GB PS3's can play the older PS2/PS1 games. Well, only the early PS3's can, and apparently not mine! I still like it though. You can go online right on your TV, watch HD movies and of course play PS3 games with it. The graphics are amazing and the games almost look like movies. But to me, it's not worth the price tag. Buy a Wii instead.
Excerpt: Sony's PS3 is indeed the next generation of video games, yet no one would know this. Although it has a monstrous Blu-Ray HD DVD player that has amazing sound and picture when hooked up to a 1080p television through an HDMI, no games fully utilize the sound or picture quality, which is sad. Many of the games are not worthy of PS2, let alone PS3!
