Don't Waste Your Time!
1 August 2012
Summary: I really want to like this technology but I just recently shut it down. If all you want is to play games, it should be fine. I use it for Netflix and online gaming. The problem with the PS3 is Sony. They have upgrades every few months and it takes literally 20 to 30 minutes. They force you to do it. So you try to go into Netflix and it tells you that you need to upgrade to OS. Why can't I do it after I'm finished or schedule it to run at an off hour?
Pros: Could be a great system but Sony won't allow it to happen.
Cons: Upgrades... upgrades... upgrades.. time cosuming and happen often., Unreliable network.
Summary: The only problem i have is when I watch Netflix and SD movies, there will be a quick white flash and then the sound goes. I hate to stop what I am watching and shut down and restart my PS3. I am contemplating on either getting another one or not.
Summary: Bought this system around a year ago, and since have went through 4 of them. From the Bluray player going out, to overheating issues, and then the PS network having a security breach by some hackers, WOW is all I can say, along with "don't waste your money". Backwards compat is now gone, low hard drive space, and the problems, PS3 just aint worth the time. Yes, you can surf the web, big deal my phone can, and its not like surfing with a computer!
Summary: I guess the only flaw i see (or can't see)with this remote , is the fact that the button labels are so tiny and dull , you cannot see them.Even if you have the best vision , you cannot view the labels without a really bright light (and i am not exaggerating)it sort of defeats the whole purpose of a remote , which is not to get up!...other than THAT!
Summary: Too many design flaws on this thing. Too easy to turn on the PS3, too difficult to turn off the PS3, and you end up in the PS3 menu unexpectedly. 1. No off button. You cannot turn the PS3 off without navigating menus. I end walking up to the PS3 and pressing the 1/0 button on it (which doesn't always work either, since you can't turn off the PS3 right after turning it on). 2. Every button is an on button. Press any button and the PS3 turns on. 3.
Summary: If you want to pause your movie, you hit "Pause". If you want to start your movie again, you hit "Play". But between the "Pause" and "Play" buttons is "Stop". Here Be Dragons. "Stop" means it. "Stop" doesn't just stop the video from playing, it quits out of the Blu-Ray player and returns you all the way to the root PS3 menu.
Summary: Pros: -It is a wireless bluetooth device, so you do not need to point at the PS3 to use it. -Comes with batteries -It is one of the few (if not the only) remotes compatible with the PS3 without and IR adapter -Not only for Bluray movies and DVDs, but also for music and videos on the hard drive as well as for surfing the web -You can check the battery level when you press the PS button Cons: -The bluetooth function uses too much battery power -It is a big remote -It has...
Summary: I was a little miffed I even needed to get this because I already had a universal remote (Harmony). This remote works as advertised but the layout is less than stellar and they tried to map every single PS3 control button to the remote, so it's laden with buttons. Also, you have to treat the remote just like one of the controllers and use the PS button to turn it on/off. Honestly, I think this is just an elongated PS3 controller.
