Summary: The PS2 is somewhat notorious for mechanical failure, so it stands to reason the slim versions with less protection on the lazer-reader would be more susceptible. I picked up a used copy, not too beat up. The one I got can't read some disks that I'm sure a new fat one could, disks with minor or almost non-existent damage. But most of the time it does, so I guess it's okay. The silver color is okay, I guess.
Summary: When the PS2 came in it was obviously dropped and damaged. The power button was sunken in and case was seperated at the power button. Also the tab for the cd cover that tells the Playstation it is closed was missing so it would not start up any games. I highly doubt this model was tested. I had to open up the PS2 case reset the power button. While inside the case found the tab for the cd cover thankfully and super glued it on.
Summary: Did not work as well as the standard PS-2 unit. This unit is subject to over heating, make sure you have a air flow on this unit. Bought this to replace a unit that was just wore out from constant playing with 4 kids.
Summary: As I scroll thru the vast quantities of reviews I can think of but one thing "How can people be honestly reviewing a system that hasn't been released in America yet?". One bit of info alot of the other reviewers are not mentioning is the fact that they are playing on a imported Japanese version. Some basic facts before taking any review based here in America. 1) Yes the American version will be backward compatable with "American" games.
Summary: gamecube, ps2, and xbox are all great systems and they all have their good points and their bad. ps2 has the most games but lacks in power. gamecube has only medium power and only medium amount of games. and xbox has not as many games but is a power house. i have all 3 but i like xbox the best because it has the best online comuninity and capability, it has great graphics(look at halo 2), and the 400+ games it does have are mostly good ones(halo, halo2, rainbow six 3,...
A great selection of games and all but its the system itself

Summary: The PS2 has incredibly good games and the biggest library of all the consoles but as my title says, it is the system itself that needs some help. The PS2 requires more patience and you've got to do more to take care of it! What I'll start out with first are the graphics. The PS2 came out in 2000 and for then these graphics are great! But you start to notice a few things.
Summary: I am actually 13, but my ... computer won't handle the login page, sooo here goes: I have played the PS2, PS1, N64, NES, and am a huge gameboy fan. I live in the middle of nowhere, and have no life. i have plenty of time to think about this. Hands-down, the XBOX has the best graphics and the best controller i have ever seen. but you have to buy seperate stuff to play DVD's, I mean, after paying almost 200$ in the first place, who wants to do that?
