Summary: I am very pleased with this product. It does exactly what the manufacturer says it does. However, I am finding it to be very frustrating on the internet. I know it's not a computer, it would be nice to at least be able to enter chat rooms other than the ones on Seganet.com. In conclusion buy this system for the games not for serious internet use.
Pros: The game graphics are terrific.
Cons: It is to slow and limiting when used on the internet.
Summary: was back in the day one of the best consoles you could get anywhere, though of course new advancements have passed by, in terms of speed and power and such at least, but this is still a great piece of equipment, and a little bit of history too.
Excerpt: This was Sega's last console to ever be released, the Dreamcast. I review in five different categories, Design, Controller, Graphics, Multiplayer/Online and Game Library. The Dreamcast's design is pretty basic. All it is a square white and grey box (another additon came in all black) with four controller slots. The Dreamcast games ran on CD's (GD-ROMS in this case). The Dreamcast was a nice sized system, it was smaller then the PS2 and Xbox but larger then the Gamecube.
Pros: Great Graphics, Great New Features and a Cool Memory Card Concept
Cons: A Small Game Library that Lacks in a Few Genres
Excerpt: I have a Dream. Way back in1997 the initial plans for the new Sega console where put into motion. The sega Saturn had took a pounding at the hands of the PlayStation, so Sega needed to act fast in order to re-claim there stake in the hardware game. Initially codenamed the Katana (A name that can still be found on the internal chips) the later renamed Dreamcast finally showed its face on November 27th 1998 in Japan.
Pros: Fun, great controler, amazing games, online play
Excerpt: The Sega Dreamcast was released in the UK during September 1999. At that time it was the most powerful console in the world and should have sold by the truckload. Despite a reasonable ad campaign though, Sega just were'nt able to sell many units and had they have continued with the console then being declared bankrupt was a distinct possibility.
Pros: Brilliant games .
Cons: hard and software no longer avaliable in the shops .
Excerpt: When the dreamcast came out everyone wanted one, it was excellant. I bought mine in the first week it came out and i bought sonic adventures with it, my favourtie game apart from GTA san andreas), i bough it for about £90 including the game, i thought it was the best bargain ever. I was addicted for months to it, after i completed sonic adventures i bought ridge racer and i loved that game aswell but after a couple of months my 3 year old sister broke it :O So by the...
Excerpt: This is a classic example of a super games console being ruined by the lack of games and poor advertising. This console could have been better than the PS2 or the xbox. Graphics wise,it's just as good,i can't tell any diference from a Dreamcast and a PS2. But sadly, life is unfair.
