Excerpt: You know those days of Sega, yeah well I do too. They ended with this thing you know? Yeah, they did. Even though it's great. Yeah I said it, it's great. Gem Fighter is a personal favorite of mine, but Shenmue is good too. I'd say that it was too complex for its time and that would be true. The PS2, XBOX, and Gamecube were pretty much simple devices in comparison, who would want to look into their data on their controller? When do you have time for that?
Excerpt: The sega dreamcast release on 9-9-99 was a console i owned the second i came out. As a gamer i came into the gaming game late. most had already been gaming since the super nintendo, but this was my second console. the game featured interesting games despite the lack of third party support or in other words games from ea sports and other companies. that meant no madden.
Excerpt: I like old game consoles. They have a certain personality to them. This is a classic console with some of the best older games out there. There's a certain element of nostalgia since this was the last console put out by Sega. Everyone remembers having a Sega Genesis in their childhood (quiet you kids, get off my lawn!). There are a lot of games out there available used on eBay and other such places.
Excerpt: At this point the Dreamcast is not a console you should buy unless you are a serious gamer, due to the fact that games are no longer being developed for it, and the cost tends to run around the same (or more) as more advanced consoles. However, in its time the Dreamcast had some of the best games of any console, and if you can get the games for cheap, there are plenty you could pick up.
Excerpt: The dreamcast comes from a company that tried it's best to succeed. This was their last attempt at earning their fans back, who had been driven away by previous add-ons and many consoles. It's games are amazing. Play any Sonic Adventure game and tell me it isn't a blast. Developers today even continue to make games for it for free, and some of them are even pretty good. Obvious con is that it is outdated, no where near as good as the graphics of today.
Excerpt: Pros: it was cheap and graphics were ahead of thier time look at games sonic adventure 2 or 1 great games compact very entertaining and basically started off the xbox generation and introduced online gaming Cons: u will hear this in any reveiw it had a short life span thanks to GC and PS2 but dreamcast got the job done and not only that but the the controller had a flaw in the position of the cord but they tried to fix it with the notch in the back.
Excerpt: The Sega Dreamcast was perhaps the most underrated video game console in history. It came out in a gray period, when people had playstations and Nintendo 64 consoles, and weren't ready for something new. The graphics are fantastic, the loading time is short, and the game selection on this platform was great. Crazy Taxi. Marvel vs. Capcom. Virtua cop. Sonic Adventures. These games were all amazing to play.
Excerpt: If you're looking for a system that has some great games, this is one of the ones to get. When it came out in 1999, it really showed off what would be done with gaming. Online gaming, memory cards with visual screen, controllers with trigger buttons. The Dreamcast originated all those ideas. The games are somewhat diverse and really showed what a PC-style console could. There are so many great games on the system that anyone could enjoy.
Summary: I am very pleased with this product. It does exactly what the manufacturer says it does. However, I am finding it to be very frustrating on the internet. I know it's not a computer, it would be nice to at least be able to enter chat rooms other than the ones on Seganet.com. In conclusion buy this system for the games not for serious internet use.
Pros: The game graphics are terrific.
Cons: It is to slow and limiting when used on the internet.
