Excerpt: I've had every game boy since the original - in fact, I still like to play my original Tetris game. I loved the improvements that came with Game Boy Advance, so I was excited when dh gave me this as a gift. Unlike every other GB incarnation, this one cannot play all old cartridges - it can play most GBA ones. The new cartridges are TINY - literally a thick postage stamp size - and can be hard to keep track of. Some integrated storage would have been thoughtful.
Excerpt: When I first got the Nintendo Ds Lite I was overjoyed. I immediately bought some mario and final fantasy games and spent hours on them. What seperates the Nintendo Ds from the ps3 or xbox 360 is that you don't need to be good at gaming or have any knowledge in gaming at all. Most games are simple to play and easy to learn. You can go online with wifi and play with anybody else in the world.
Excerpt: My son had been wanting a nintendo ds lite for a very long time. I am very money concious and did not like the idea of spending one hundred and fifty dollars on a toy for and eight year old. I spent a long time searching ebay and video game resale stores to try to buy a used nintendo ds lite at a discounted price. Unfortuantely I wasn't able to find one so my husband and I relented and bought our son a new blue nintendo ds lite console. He loved it and played it all...
Okay but it was mass produced buttons wear out and turn game off
6 August 2008
Excerpt: it is an okay product but these were so fastly massed produced they have still have not worked out all the bugs. The hinges break at nothing and on some models the buttons start to mess up. When playing a game and you press one of the buttons it will turn off the system. When contacted nintendo about this they did nothing. To me that would be a manufactors defect. They do not stand behind the workmanship of the products.
Excerpt: I really enjoyed by Ds lite, I really have. It's just gotten old. like the game boy advance, and the game boy color behind that, it's gotten to the point when it's just time to move on. THe Dsi can do all the things the Ds Lite can do, and more! Why not buy the next generation of technology instead? With my Ds Lite, I can't get all the cool screen mechanisms you can have with the newer technology.
Excerpt: Okay the only, ONLY reason why you would ever get a nintendo DS Lite (the lite specifically) is to play games that are specifically for Nintendo AND not offered on any other types of consoles or handheld devices. Other than that this product is almost a waste in my opinion. First of all I got it from my friend for $50 including the R4 (if you don't know what this is then don't think I don't know what I'm talking about by calling this product a waste).
Excerpt: I purchased the pink nintendo ds lite for my 14 year old daughter last year. There's alot we love and alot we hate about this system. The fact that it's portable and has a lot of games to choose from is a definite plus. There are games for preschoolers up to adults. The problem with the games is they're pretty expensive and because they're so small, very easy to lose. I opted to buy used games for half of the price just so she had some variety of games to play.
Excerpt: Well where should I start? Despite the lame look of it I think it's ok. The pen is sort of stupid looking, and it should be wider. Some of the games are ok i guess. I haven't really played anything that I especially enjoy. I also think that it looks like something a true nerd would be playing. You wouldn't catch me sitting in the park playing a handheld gaming system.
