Basic game console with some hidden talent
12 February 2014
Summary: I use this Microsoft Xbox 360 E as a Media Center extender. It is by far the cheapest setup for recording and streaming TV content. You will need a PC running the Media Center software and at least one TV tuner video card.
Summary: I went into this purchase for my children. It's not like the Xbox is new to the market and I went in with a full understanding of the Pros & Cons (arrggh, Live). As a devoted FPS PC Gamer, control pads annoy me and paying to pay online does as well.
Summary: Was typically a playstation or PC gamer prior to getting this system for Christmas. Overall I'm extremely happy and have jumped on the LIVE bandwagon so I can play with my friends. If I hadn't received this as a gift I would have gone with the PS3 to be honest.
Pros: Fast, beautiful graphics. HDMI output.
Cons: Typical Microsoft gotchas: no built-in Wireless, can't use USB to save off game/profile data, doesn't play game sound through controller. It's all about making the consumer buy the accessories. If MS had made this state-of-the-art console with built-in wifi then it would have been 5 eggs. Instead...
Summary: Seriously... I could understand them leaving this cable out if they included an HDMI cable, but almost any TV produced in the last 10 years can at least use component, so... whatever. For the $300 "elite" package, a HD-capable cable should be included. Really irritated about this.
Pros: Just got it - assuming it works as it should. Only really bought it to use as a Media Center Extender, which works great. Gaming is secondary, and I haven't done any of that yet.
Cons: My fault for not looking closely at the product images I guess, but I think it's REALLY lame that the only included AV connection was for standard definition. I bought this to hook up to a 5 year old 65" TV that does 1080i through composite, and wanted to send digital audio out to an old set of L...
Summary: Wish you could get on live with a Linux OS, but I doubt many would agree with me.
Pros: I took off one egg simply because Microsoft is evil, but this elite system is much quieter than my previous one which I sold to a friend when I upgraded to this model. My nieces love Lego Batman, but I haven't tried pure yet. The system looks awsome on my big screen and the hdmi out is really nic...
Cons: It's still a 360 and as long as Microsoft is going to test it's products on the open market they will have significant flaws. Fortunately this is a late enough model that seems to have them worked out. Thanks be to everyone who bought an early one funding billions of dollars for Microsoft to figu...
Pros: Great deal for a current gen console at a great price, two games and a $50 gift card to boot. How could i say no? Packaged well, no damage upon arrival. The elite package so everything i might want is there (Except maybe a second controller)
Cons: Doesn't come with an HDMI cable. Only component, although that does give a High def image you will want to purchase a separate HDMI cable to get the best from the console
Summary: I got a hitachi elite made in 07?? I am not sure where they found this thing but it sure does look new. I am going to call MS and verify it is not a refurb...I mean newegg is usually very good about this, and I trust them, but it's just too old not to check out.
Pros: It is an older model (2007) and it has an older Hitachi drive which is super easy to flash, if thats your thing. It is also old enough (hardware and dashboard) to do the jtag exploit. Anyone looking for an older machine I think this part# is what you are looking for.
Cons: Older motherboard chipset, that is not as resistent to the RROD. It is what it is. Could last 10 years or 10 minutes.
Summary: this was a great buy, I know in a year or two xbox 360 elite is going to go down in price but I still think this is a very good price. I am a bit frightened about the one ring of red death. I'm hoping I don't get that.
Pros: Xbox 360 was affordable 50 dollar promotional cardcame with it Two free games Its black!
Summary: If you get it with free $50 gift card, this is not a bad deal. Otherwise, a bit pricey.
Pros: Great gaming platform, despite aging design and components, great online functionality and easy setup as media extender with Media Center PCs.
Cons: AV cable that comes with box is worthless (not even component!). Expect horrible picture quality unless you are connecting to old tube TV. Wireless add-on way too expensive. Xbox Live Gold should also be cheaper but free silver membership still has some value.
It's an Xbox 360 and it works. Nothing out of the norm.

Summary: The Xbox 360 is reaching the end of it's life. At the time when it was released the graphics were amazing. Now, it's really lacking. Game designers have stated that they have pushed the 360 as far as they could already. On the other hand, the PS3 has yet to fully live up to its potential.
Pros: Plays my games fine. Not much faults with it >.>. It doesn't come with a HDMI cable but with some research, one would have figured that out before buying. IMO the fact that it does not come with a rechargeable battery is a fairly big negative.. However, as I have rechargeable AA batteries sitting...
Cons: It doesn't have any cons so far... The only problem is that it is LOUD when it reads disks but it's as loud as my desktop fans anyways =/. This can easily be fixed by copying the CDs onto the huge hard drive.
