  • Excerpt: when i first got this console,i was amazed. all the games were amazing. the game play is awesome. there are no downsides to this product. the games always worked fine, sometimes needed a blow to get the dust out, but, when that was done, it worked perfectly. the A and B buttons are in the perfect spot for game play. i would most definatly reccoment this to anybody into gaming. the best part about it, is its portability.

Great gift

  • Excerpt: I received this as a gift long time ago and wow, I felt like I was king of the world (kind of) when I first received this. You see, this gaming system was THE thing to get long time ago. This was like equivalent to scoring an XBOX 360, PS3, and a wii all in one for the time that this thing was first introduced to the public. It had a screen, and it was quite small. No color.

  • Excerpt: The gameboy was first before any of the major small console systems. Before the PSP, DS Lite and all of the modern systems was Nintendo's good old Game Boy. It was very much like the Nintendo NES system. It had the same type of grey color on the cover along with the black arrow movement buttons and the red A and B buttons on the right. Also like the Nintendo NES was the start and select buttons in the middle.

  • Excerpt: I have had my old gray brick Game Boy for almost twenty years, and during that time it has been dropped numerous times and I even left it outside in the rain once, and it still works great. Nintendo is known for making durable products, and this is no exception. There were many great games released for the Game Boy during its lifetime.

Classic gaming

  • Excerpt: The first best hope of portable gaming was with this device, and it was a smashing success. The Game Boy had a great amount of good games and Nintendo was smart enough to pack in the game Tetris with all new copies of the Game Boy system. Many successful games were released from not only Nintendo, but from third party companies as well. Many people liked the idea of being able to game on the go, even if not in color. Tetris on the go was a great idea and a great success.

Almost Flawless

  • Excerpt: "...this device is perfect. The Nintendo Gameboy Player offers what Super Gameboy did for Snes: they allow you to play your small gameboy games and play them on the big screen. The gameboy player for gamecube is slotted underneath the gamecube and the games are inserted as you would on a regular game. As I have a black gamecube, it looks really discreet and looks as if it's part of the gamecube. A couple of things that you might not be able to tell ...
  • Pros: Great Quality
  • Cons: Worthless without a gamecube

I love my Gameboy player

  • Excerpt: "...and these are easy coin-friendly Nintendo screws, not get-your-toolbox-out-and-pretend-to-be-a-builder screws. Once connected, you stick a Gameboy cartridge in the slot at the front - just as with the Gameboy advance itself, the slot is the right size for advanced cartridges, Gameboy Colour cartridges will stick out a little way. Now comes the only drawback - you have to have the supplied disk in the top. If you swap between Gameboy and Gamecube ...
  • Pros: Gameboy games on the big(ger) screen !
  • Cons: You might forget they're only Gameboy games and want more?

  • Excerpt: "Nintendo have always loved launching accessories for their home console systems and the GameCube is no exception. They paved the way for light guns in Duck Hunt on the NES. They added an extra feel of the game you play with the rumble pack for the N64 and now they launch the Gameboy Player for the GameCube. The Gameboy Player lets you play your Gameboy games on a big screen TV. This isn’t the first time such a device has been launched but this ...

GameBoy Player

  • Excerpt: This is one of the best inventions on the planet. Being able to play your Game Boy Advance (or classic Game Boy) games through your Gamecube is great. No more squinting at your GBAs tiny screen, and no more constant worry of are my batteries gonna run out out?. The Game Boy Player sits nicely underneath your Cube and screws on to the bottom. Although the unit is black, it doesnt look out of place with a purple (or silver) console.

GameBoy Player

Reviewer, CompareStorePrices

  • Excerpt: I first saw one of these when my brother got one for his birthday. The Game Boy Player is a device, which connects to the bottom of the Nintendo Gamecube and allows you to play Game Boy, Game Boy Color or Game Boy Advance games on youre Nintendo Gamecube. I thought this was a decent piece of machinery due to the fact that, it feels like youve got a second Game Boy Console, but it stays permanently with the Nintendo Gamecube, without getting lost like a normal Game Boy...
