The (Atari) Lynx Effect

Retrotast..., Ciao
20 March 2011
  • Excerpt: The Atari Lynx was released in it's initial form in 1989 and was in direct competition with Nintendos Gameboy. While the Gameboy had only a monochrome screen the Lynx had a full colour display and advanced (for the time) 16-bit graphics.
  • Pros: Great graphics (for its time) interesting features and a really LOUD speaker
  • Cons: Massive size, limited battery life and only a small library of quality games

Lynx. Even now, still the best handheld.

  • Excerpt: Ahh the heady days of the handheld revolution. Nintendo's crummy little black and white entry, Sega's Game gear, with it's clean graphics and Master System adapter, and the mysteriously failed wonder that was the Atari Lynx.
  • Pros: Good graphics and sound .  Feels solid to use .
  • Cons: Bulkier than most people are used to .  Limited game supply .  Heavy battery drain .

18 August 2000
  • Excerpt: the lynx was the king of the handhelds but was destined to fail. Atari was a good name when it come out with its history in computers and arcade stuff and the graphics were magnificent so I though. It cost me 80 squid and I had two games Batman returns and a brilliant golf game with over head veiw.

Atari Lynx: Snif...

31 May 2004

Coole Konsole

swolpi, Ciao
13 January 2001

  • Pros: Farbe
  • Cons: zu Unbekannt
