Axes lose calibration

Scott M., Newegg
27 July 2009
  • Pros: Responsive, feels pretty solid in the hand
  • Cons: Before I even had to switch out the first set of batteries I've lost calibration on my y and z axes. The supposed auto-calibration does nothing to fix this and I'm stuck in either a constant slow corkscrew or forced to use a largely asymmetrical dead zone.

trash

Justin S., Newegg
23 April 2008
  • Summary: Verdict: Made in China and feels like every bit of it. NOT worth the money. Look at the reviews on other websites. I like logitech, but this joystick is expensive, overpriced junk.
  • Pros: At first I thought, wow this will be a great joystick looking at the reviews. Then I bought one. Pros? ROFL, haha. Is that a joke? There are none.
  • Cons: Opened the box with my brand new $50 joystick, installed the batteries, and thats when the laundry list of cons started... a)It wouldn't turn on. Took a look at the batteries, and the terminals weren't making contact. Battery compartment is cheaper than dirt and mine has intermittent connection. ...

Great Joystick / Very Poor Battery Life

Erik H., Newegg
8 April 2008
  • Summary: Even with rechargeables...don't bother with wireless because you can't ever tell when you are in the middle of using this joystick and it just quits!
  • Pros: I love the wireless aspect of the joystick. When I am done with it I put it up on the top shelf of my desk without worries of the cord. Sensitivity and precision are great. Buttons are well placed and it has a pretty good base for setting in your lap.
  • Cons: Battery life completely blows! I have never gotten 50 hours of play-time out of this joystick with either disposable or rechargeable batteries. Life is more like 8 hours tops! I use this joystick primarily for flying jets in BF2. Every time I go to play the batteries are dead! I would never buy t...

I dunno

Lisa C., Newegg
24 February 2008
  • Summary: From what i hear, this joystick is very fragile, you would probably be better off with a different one, in all honesty.
  • Pros: IT an easy to use joystick with simple buttons, and a good life like feel.
  • Cons: I had this joystick for about 1 week and a half, after that time my joystick suddenly didn't let me pitch forward on the joystick. so i called logitech up, they said it is deactive (meaning broken) so i turned it in about 2 weeks ago and i still have not got a new one back, and i told them i want...

A couple of bad experiences

Jeff B., Newegg
6 November 2007
  • Summary: I was really excited about this joystick, I love everything about it, if only it would work properly.
  • Pros: Wireless, I loved the metal trigger (felt great)! Wasn't as wobbly as everyone else says, just don't lift it up and you'll be fine.
  • Cons: I just returned my 2nd one of these joysticks in less than a month! The twist handle kept registering that it was turning right, ON BOTH OF THEM! I tried it on 2 different computers with 3 different games, each. with the same result. Finally gave up and returned for a refund, now to start my sear...

Product controls

Edward F. Nielsen, Amazon
11 January 2007
  • Summary: The Throttle control is to small and not in a good location on the Joystick. The different buttons are OK, but for use in Flight Simulator, they are not in a good location. Overall performance is OK, but not exceptional. I feel that the price is not consistant with the expectations of the Joystick.

Good for awhile..

Kyle G., Newegg
30 June 2006
  • Summary: Good buy, but doesnt seem to last.
  • Pros: Doesn't seem to interfere with my 2.4 network eather, great fealing holding it.
  • Cons: Unfortunitly, about 13-14 months after I bought this item, it lost it's callibration. The swivel (barreling) motion is stuck at a near 80dagree constant turning that is only countered by swiveling it the other way. And this is while it's idle, not touched. Logitech Customer Service was only able ...

User Review

Michael B., Newegg
21 August 2005
  • Summary: I upgraded to this joystick because my old logitech extreme 3d pro, pulled to the right. Calibrating did nothing to help. The Freedom 2.4 worked great for the first 3 weeks but now it pitchs constantly and has a huge dead spot in the center.

Not for a Mac!

D. Kimme, Amazon
29 December 2004
  • Summary: This joystick is advertised as compatible with Mac systems, specifically OS 8.6 or later. In reality, it is incompatible with System 10 and barely compatible with system 9 since it has no applicable software for Mac. The advertising is wrong and should be changed to "Not for Mac, PC only".

STUPID BATTERY'S!

Tia Night, Amazon
19 September 2004
  • Summary: Slick exspensive joystick. By the way you have to make sure the scencor reads the joystick for it to work. anyways I had the battery's go out on me in the middle of a flight. so my tip to you is either have back up key board keys for flying or get a new joystick.
