Summary: Bought this stick shortly after it came out. It has outlived 3 other more expensive joysticks now collecting dust. And everything still works. Occasional drift with flight sims that's easily corrected with a calibration. The rubber feet are still in place.
Pros: After 11 to 12 years use, everything still works. No spring slop. Stick buttons are intuitive and easy to find quickly.
Cons: Base button placement can be somewhat awkward in a fast response situation.
Summary: Will hold on to this even after I pick up the X-55. Great joystick for the money and a must have for users wanting a more realistic flight sim experience.
Pros: This joystick is just perfect if you're looking for a simple joystick you can even use from bed. It's not a hardcore simulation grade joystick but has enough bells and whistles to make it work for you. I'm currently using it with FSX, X-Plane and Elite Dangerous and having a blast! I even use it ...
Cons: For the price there are no cons. You really get what you paid for. I could deduct points for the throttle sure but it's a 40$ joystick.
Summary: For the price, this joystick is a fantastic choice for starting out in a flight sim or when you fancy only having a joystick and not other advanced peripherals
Pros: Solid construction, loads of buttons, fair price
Cons: The throttle makes a rubbing noise when I move it slowly. The base sometimes slides around easily when on a flat, smooth surface. The little hand rest protrudes into my wrist when pushing the stick fully forward. None of these cons are just little things, and are not enough for me to deduct an egg.
Pros: Cost is low for the quality of joystick and Logitech has one of the best records of accessories that will continue to work for years. I bought a logitech first mouse plus 15 years ago and was hyper accurate in first person shooters for many years. I only paid $10 and its still going strong today.
Cons: Binds around the rubber the tiniest bit. Slightly less control than with my sidewinder joystick with force feedback, which cost far more many years ago.
Pros: This is a wonderful joystick for older games and basic flight sims. I use this for the re-release of 1998 Tie Fighter and it works great. This thing has more buttons and options than I can even use with the games that I play. I am very happy with the performance and comfort of use.
Cons: not much for me here. I can see with a more advanced flight simulator how the throttle control may be inefficient though. If you want a stick for newer advanced simulators, I would suggest spending a bit more money on a more advanced product.
