Summary: Ice maker is a "dookey" shoot at best. Only thing worse is Whirlpool (lack of) customer service. Repair service could easily approach the cost of purchase. Funny thing is, I purchased an all Whirlpool kitchen due to previous customer service experience with a Whirlpool water heater.
Summary: After 15 months, just outside of the one year warranty, the freezer stopped holding a freezing temp. The ice in the ice maker melted flooding the ice dispenser motor compartment, so it no longer dispenses ice. The items in the freezer will be thawed, but the water dispenser line will be frozen.
Summary: I purchased this refrigerator in March of 2011 and noticed within the first week that food in the vegetable bins was freezing. Lowe's was wonderful and replaced the fridge (with the same model) on three separate occasions.
Summary: Ice maker didn't work from the moment it arrived!! A&E Factory Service has been out to repair it 4 times. They originally diagnosed the problem to be in the water line, stating that the water was freezing in the line before it reached the ice cube maker.
Summary: This is the kind of product that will make you give up on the entire manufacturer. The fact that someone at Whirlpool could test this refrigerator, hear how loud it is and say "That's fine, ship it" is unbelievable.
Summary: We have had it for one month now and have had no issues at all. Ice cubes are indeed small, but they don't splash water out of the glass like the larger ones and they cool the liquid quicker. The ice maker is a bit loud when it dumps and fills but that it kinda rare really in the scheme of things.
