Summary: What a piece of trash. To be fair, most new appliances are. They are no longer items built to last. This thing arrived broken. I thought the extra loud hum was because it was a cheaply made fridge and that I would have to live with it.
Summary: I purchased this refrigerator after we had a house fire and lost my GE Side By Side Refrigerator which I loved. My wife wanted this refrigerator simply because she felt the freezer area was easier to get things out of...WRONG!!!
Summary: 17 months old and there was ice forming on the freezer floor and water leaking onto the kitchen floor. Even though it was a holiday weekend I was given a service appointment for the next day, a Saturday. $208 later, I was encouraged to buy a 3 yr service contract for $200.
Summary: i have had my refrigerator for 3 years, and i had the same problem that other reviewers had. the freezer would work fine, but the refrigerator would not cool. the problem was that the motherboard blew (the technician said it was probably from a sudden power loss).
Summary: 7/4/2013 Today the freezer is frozen over and leaking water. The part where the light is has icicles on it and it's keeping the light from coming on when you open the fridge. I called Whirlpool..they are off today.
Summary: This refrig was 9 months old when it quit cooling. The frige ran and never shut off. Called Whrilpool and they first said a week before a repair person could come but they found another authorized repairer who could come the next day.
Summary: My compressor broke in less than 3 months of regular use. They sent A&E to check it out. The techniican didn't even file a report and lied to me about what was wrong with the fridge. They sent a different company to come look at it and they confirmed that the compressor is broken.
Summary: I bought this fridge about 2 years ago. I've had none of the issues that the other reviewer spoke of. I will hazard to say the review was from a competitor. If a consumer has such fundamental issues with an item so early on, why didn't he get it fixed/replaced/rectified under the warranty?
Summary: Purchased the Gold Series Whirlpool bottom freezer model 18 months ago and have had nothing but problems with both the unit and customer service. Seems like there is a design flaw with this because the bottom of freezer continues to build up with ice and then starts to leak on the floor.
