Summary: Since my original purchase in 11/2012, I am now on my second unit - the first unit had 6 service calls then was replaced - I am on my 5th service call now. The ice maker when it does work, which is rarely , can't keep up with consumption.
Manufacturer KNOWS there is a problem and will not replace, even if field warranty service can not fix it.

Summary: We purchased this refregerator in Dec 2012 from a local showroom. The refrigerator has many features that we do like. However, by July of 2013 we had had problems of ice "drippings" forming in the top rear-left of the refregerator compartment.
Summary: This unit works great, until it doesn't. After 6 months it just died. kitchenaid customer service was horrendous. when they finally answered the phone, they kept transferring us and giving us the run around, and they magically had no record of our previous conversations or our service request.
Summary: You have been fair warned. If you still buy a Kitchen aid refrigerator after reading this. Then you have no right to complain. Total piece of junk - completely failed after less than 2 years. We lost several hundred dollars of food.
Summary: Perpetual issues with ice build up in the roof of the refrigerator, which makes it very noisy. I've had 8 repairmen visits and 4 "fixes" that never worked. Best part is the 3rd repairman scratched my refrigerator in the process.

Summary: After the first one could not be fixed after three repair attempts, it was replaced after a fierce fight with kitchenaid's service dept that defies description. We seriously were told "tough, sue if you want". The Lemon Laws apply after three strikes and eventually they replaced it with lemon #2.
Summary: We have had this refrigerator for 1 year. The repairmen have come out 3 times and the ice maker/water dispenser still is not right. Water freezes up in the top of the refrigerator; ice collects on everything in the freezer. It is also noisy. I could not recommend this product to anyone!
Summary: I don't post many reviews but took the time to post this one. This is by the far the worst peice of equipment I've ever owned. I love my kitchenaid mixer, my kitchenaid oven, microwave as well as my whirlpool washer/dryers (even though they needed a new circuit board 35 days after purchasing).
Summary: JUNK DO NOT BUY. DON'T JUDGE A BOOK OR A MOVIE BY ITS COVER ! CONSUMER BEWARE. GO PICKET IF YOU BOUGHT THIS ITEM. THERE SHOULD BE A CLASS ACTION LAW SUIT FOR SUCH A LARGE COMPANY TAKING ADVANTAGE OF THE GENERAL PUBLIC OF HARDWORKING PEOPLE.

Summary: I have had a similar experience regarding the icemaker, which stopped working 5 months ago. Through the extended warranty Lowes sold me, they sent a service to try and repair the icemaker, then when that didn't work, sent someone to have the icemaker replaced.
