Summary: We bought this fridge in January 2014. Within four weeks, the door catch snapped. We contacted Hotpoint who had the audacity to say we must have broken it but it snapped from simply opening and closing the door. They told us we would have to pay for parts and for an engineer to come out, which they estimated to total around £160. The fan has been extremely noisy as well, too noisy in my opinion. We ended up using British Gas as we have a Homecare policy with them.
Summary: DO NOT BUY ONE OF THESE,the machine is faulty by design.the customer service team are liars.if hotpoint were a sole trader they would be answering to the courts for conning people out of this amount of money!
Excerpt: If you are thinking about buying this product you need to look at the reviews for FF4DX also (same product but in silver). You will be shocked at the 50+negative reviews and it may save you!!!
Summary: Had same problem had engineer out twice sent free of charge even though 2 years old and no insurance as it is a known fault. They have also sent me £60 worth of vouchers for food. Fridge is still not working so I will be calling them again in the morning to request a new fridge freezer .
Summary: Do not buy this expensive model with known faults. There are huge lists of dissatisfied customers on other websites all with the same problem. My Fridge Freezer - FF4DK just over a year old - severed a wire when the left hand door was closed, severed a wire and blew all the electrics and the motherboard as well as leaving live wires exposed - very dangerous - thank goodness we were in the house at the time.
Summary: I had an engineer out for an ARISTON Washer/Dryer which has a design fault where the dryer falls apart after a while because of how they have designed it - 9 times now. Hotpoint are the manufacturers. The same engineer inspected our FF4DK Fridge Freezer and pointed out the same problem as everyone else on this forum. A wire on the inside of the top left door that feeds the alarm system has been severed.

Summary: I purchased my Hotpoint FF4DK in November 2011. I opened the fridge to make my morning cuppa and tripped all house electrics, this happened four times so i called my electrician friend who advised me that it was definitely a problem with the F/F. Thanks to your reviews i was able to contact Indesit customer service. They initially said that my model was not in the pre 2010 group of defective appliances and was not applicable for free rectification.
