Summary: I just had this piece of poop delivered by sears today. Nine hours later the freezer/fridge, had met the desired temp 0 and 37 degrees. Went to my neighbors collected my food, Both frozen and chilled. Placed it in the fridge and two hours later the fridge is dead as a door nail. Flipped the breaker, nothing, called the help line, they told me to flip the breaker, NOTHING!!! It is as if it is unplugged. This G.E. replaced a $3500 G.E. five years old, that G.E.
Summary: I just had the motherboard replaced on my GE Profile Side by Side. I talked a length with the expert and knowledgeable repairman, who, incidentally, is from a very reputable local appliance store, not the 800 GE number. He told me that ALL the refrigerators are the same....they are NOT made to last, they are made to break down so you have to buy a new one. He said this machine is rated for 10 years and that the motherboard is a common, very common problem.
Summary: I have a GE refrigeratior also from 2008 when i bought my house brand new. It worked for about 3 years before it started to have fluctuating temps on the freezer and ref side. I paid $235 or so for GE to replace main board control unit in aug 2011. Now it is doing the same temp fluctuation thing but only on the refrigerator side only since january of this year and i have been trying to deal with this issue.
Summary: We bought a new GSL22JGDB LS , and needed it serviced 15 times in the first year. We asked for replacements after the 3rd time , but they refused. Now the year is over & they charge us every time they come-out to fix the same issue. I can live with All of the plastic bins are breaking all the time , but the fridge just stops working , & the freeze goes to like 9 degrees .
Summary: VERY DISAPOINTED - In GE for selling this lousy product , in Consumer Reports for listing it as a 'Best Buy' and in myself for no returning in the fist time it broke down. 6 months in owning it the 'mother board' was fried - It's been replaced 3 more times in 4 years - broke down again yesterday and the repair man can't even fix it ( fan, compressor and mother board shot) for an amount that makes sense so it's going to now be used as land fill - DO NOT BUY THIS OR ANY GE...
Summary: We wanted a side-by-side that offered both ice and water in the door and that really was our sole criterion for the new fringe. The attractive, 25.9 cu. Ft. free-standing "GE PSHS6PGZ (25.9 cu. ft.) Side-by-Side Refrigerator" fit the bill. First Impressions I am (mostly) impressed! While the refrigerator side offers amble room including three bins is which to store fruits, snacks and, and veggies, the freezer side is somewhat lacking in space.
Summary: This was a bad choice for me. I saw the reviews but this side by side fit nicely into the area and I decided to take a chance. I bought it in 2010 and it has been nothing but issues. It was fine for the first year and a half. Then the metal racks in the freezer started falling down every time I opened the door and frozen meat would land on my feet. The freezer cabinet had actually expanded as you could see the corners pulling away. Of course I did not buy the insurance.
Summary: I've spent about 6 months with my GE PSHS6PGZSS Profile refrigerator and I'm very happy with it. I was very dubious about purchasing a side-by-side model, but it's turned out to be very roomy and flexible. Frankly, I have no complaints about it as a fridge. It keeps things cool/frozen and makes ice very quickly.
