Multiple service calls for ice maker in first 2 years. Complete failure of unit led to over $200 of lost groceries. Electolux will not replace this total lemon. We have a Whirlpool in the garage that has goen 16 years without a service call.
I have had this refrigerator for 1 year and 2 months. One monght ago it quit working completly. Repair person came out and said we needed the main power board replaced. Two weeks later the power board came in and was replaced. IT WORKED FOR 10 DAYS. Power board is ordered again and they just called to say it is on backorder and will be in TWO MONTHS!
I thought I was buying a quality refrigerator as the price would indicate. Not even close. They should be embarrassed!
My $500 refrigerator I bought for the garage is now in my kitchen. It is 4 years old and has been exposed to the Arizona heat -- but still works!
ELECTROLUX = TOTAL PIECE OF CRAP
So far we have had 8 service calls and 3 replacement refriderators to correct the ide maker issues over the last 12 months. We just now received the 2012 model which was supposed to correct the "known" ice maker issues. We received the new refriderator and yes it makes ice, lots of it, but it sounds like a series of gears mashing inside the ice maker. The grinding noise is constant, regardless of whether you are dispensing ice or just looking at the refriderator. The noise has become quite a distration in what was a very quiet kitchen and great room area.
This was our last try with Eletrolux, fortunately we purchased it from a very reliable kitchen design and supply business locally and they plan to take it back and replace it with another brand.
Sorry to see such a nice looking and solid refriderator go, but it has been 12 months of ice maker issues and we're done.
This Fridge $3400 is by far the worst ever. Has never made ice correctly. When it does make ice, water drips out of the chute into the non-draining reservoir.
Eletrolux customer service is bad. I have called 3-5 times, had service people out here a few times and they told me that I have only called once and since its out of warrentee, I am on my own.
As info, the MANAGER at the CALL CENTER is named "Dwight" and I highly suggest you mention his name and asked to be connected. There is a manager named "Jennifer" who is clueless and I think failed out of Toll Booth School.
