Summary: I made the mistake of buying this refrigerator and have regretted it every day for the past three years. The electronics repeatedly fail; once costing me hundreds in spoiled groceries. The water dispenser turned itself on in the middle of the night flooding my kitchen. All repairs were under warranty but I have had to wait weeks to get parts, meaning no refrigerator for weeks at a time.
Summary: The refrigerator looks great and has great storage capacity but that is a far as good goes. Ice maker made almost no ice, a glass full per day not the claimed 9 lbs. Several repairs and months of frustration only made matters worse. Finally received a replacement from Electrolux. Ice maker worked but only makes very small quantities but very quickly, not enough to keep up with just 2 people who both work.
Summary: Purchased the Electrolux EI23BC56S over many other brands/models, expecting high quality - partially due to the high price. The icemaker soon began making loud knocking noises. Service man (under warranty) replaced all parts within the icemaker. No ice. Service man wrapped "thermometer" with insulation. No ice. The store replaced it with a new one. It has a slightly different icemaker (they obviously had too many problems with the other one).
Summary: We purchased a home with this refrigerator in it. Manufactured in Feb. 2010. The Ice Maker makes a ton of noise, you would think it is making a ton of ice..you pull out the ice dispenser and there's nothing. I changed the Pur filter, checked the water pressure..still horrible performance. Electrolux boasts that it makes more ice than any of it's competitors.. I say..."PROVE IT" until I see that, I won't be convinced.
Summary: Bought this fridge expecting higher quality than competitors. Have had problems from day 1. Mostly to do with ice maker. Have owned this for four months and repairmen have been to fix it 5 times. Also door alarm doesn't work. Shelf design is poor as upturned edges on glass shelves causes items to tip. Only stable area is in center of shelves. Repairman commented that he's fixed many of this model. We are now requesting a total replacement.
Summary: My wife and I bought this French door, counter depth Electrolux in late April of this year (2010.) I have to say, I am not happy with this refrigerator at all. First, it is occasionally very noisy and sounds like popcorn is popping inside. I think this is related to the icemaker, which also doesn't dispense very well at all. Second, the door design on this unit is terrible. There is a moving weatherseal on the right-hand door that keeps it from just naturally closing.
