Excerpt: I have just returned from my holidays and all the contents of my full freezer ..defrosted and sinfully wasted ..The indicator on light is stil on ...the fast freeze button still lights up but still not working all my food ruined I think i bought it Oct 2010 for extra storeage for Christmas ...going to ring Dixons to get my details documented and complaints for shoddy goods...on the hunt now for a new reliable chest freezer but will not touch Norfrost...
Excerpt: Avoid this freezer at all costs. I bought a Norfrost C6AEW-b chest freezer as a replacement for my aging freezer that I keep in my garage. After 19 days I was horrified to find that the contents had defrosted and on closer examination that the freezer had burn marks to the underside insulation just above the compressor. If it was not for the fact that I have RCB`s fitted in my consumer unit, there would have most certainly been a fire.
Excerpt: this product is low build quality ,the seal is useless thermostat is running continualy ,waiting for man to come been told three days ,rang dixons told them i want my money back said no because i had it more than 28 days.
Excerpt: Same problems with the seal as mentioned by other reviewers. My freezer had a thermostat failure after only 22 months resulting in loss of contents (#300+ worth)including lots of home grown veg. My advice is to spend a little more and avoid this model altogether.
Excerpt: I also have this model and experience a big frost build-up around the seal. Comet`s engineer said that this happens when the ambient temperature is low (mine is in the garage). He said that the material which is used to make the seal is inflexible when it is cold, and does not return to a position which makes an effective seal. So, it appears that I will have to constantly defrost around the seal in winter, and use extra energy! I can`t wait for summer!
