Summary: We were replacing a 20 year old freezer that was manual defrost. For the same price we paid 20 years ago, we were able to buy this frost-free model. I had read the reviews describing how loud the compressor was. Since we keep the freezer in a laundry room, away from us, we didn't think it would be an issue, and it's not. The compressor is louder than our old freezer, but nowhere near the sound of a harley-davidson, as someone suggested.
Summary: Very disappointing that this freezer only lasted a year and a half. It was never moved, and stored in our basement in a closed storage room (with another fridge). It looks fine.. but does not freeze anymore. The lowest temperature we can get now is 50 degrees. It will run but just won't freeze. We tried all the "tricks" and checked the pipes, etc. Must be a compressor or some other major issues.
