Summary: I was a little concerned buying this product because some of the reviews said that they had gotten a freezer that was broken or dented because of shipping and packaging. Those who had been lucky enough to get an undamaged freezer seems to like it so I bought it hoping to be a lucky one. "NOT" mine had been dropped or something and the corner was crimped and would not allow the door to line up or even shut.
Summary: I must have visited thousands of sites searching for an apartment sized compact freezer, looked at thousands of models and read more reviews than I could count over a six month period never finding the one feature that I really needed in order to make a purchase until now. The storage space built in the door is a very important feature that I found that every other compact model available DID NOT HAVE! The Danby has three built in shelves which I find invaluable!
Summary: The freezer is working well. There was only one problem with it, when it got here it had a small dent on the side which does not affect the operation of the freezer but does of course, detract from its looks.
Summary: The freezer came. The box looked like it had been dropped from the truck. When I took the freezer out of the box, it too, looked like it had been dropped from the truck. I took a chance and plugged it in. After all, a few dents is not going to bother me if the thing worked. It sounded like it was running, but the next day it was warm inside. I turned it off, then back on, it made a hissing sound then stopped making noise all together.
Summary: Product has performed as expected, but we have had it for only a few days. However it was damaged as received----apparently dropped on left rear corner---bent the frame and dented the skin, but appears to be only cosmetic (I hope!
