Summary: Nice size, great for a family that wants to eat at home as much as possible. We put down a plastic garbage bag in our dining room, as we have a small kitchen, and it has not dripped at all. It is easy enough to move into the kitchen if we need to use the dining room for guests though. We don't use the basket, but it could be useful for some people. Just stacking food with the largest on the bottom, and moving things out of the way if necessary, works fine for us.
$35 Year Electricity To Run This Excellent Freezer

Summary: I always shy'd away from picking up a freezer due to the high electricity cost I thought I would endure. Boy was I an idiot. This freezer advertises $29 year for electricity costs. Here in NY, it's a tad higher. But boy am I satisfied with this purchase. I have currently about 40 frozen dinners, 10 pounds of meat and chicken and still room for more items. And to run this at a cost of $3 a month, you cannot go wrong. And I love the size.
Summary: I bought this freezer to store my stock of breast milk. It does the job just fine, but it did arrive damaged. The damage doesn't affect the performance, though, and sending it back is more hassle than helpful, so we will deal with it. It's nice and deep and doesn't leave a huge footprint in our small basement. The bags of milk are rock hard and I even handle them with gloves on because they are so cold they nearly burn!
It would be nice if the dial had an indication of the temperature

Summary: My freezer came very well-packaged: Outside (shipping) box, plus a liner of styrofoam at the bottom. Then inside that was another cardboard box strapped to a bottom of 1 inch styrofoam, a separate cardboard bottom, and 2 inches of styrofoam under that. On each side of the box was more styrofoam and cardboard corners. I ordered mine from the Walmart website (cheaper than here with free shipping, but their estimated date is always way off).
Summary: It is just the perfect size and shape for the space I had available in my basement. I had no problems with shipment - it arrived in perfect condition. Some reviewers mentioned that the lid can be hard to open but I have not had that trouble at all. I am amazed by how much it can hold!
Summary: I did a lot of research before I chose this Danby 3.6-cu ft Chest Freezer. I only had a very limited space in my fifth-wheel trailer for a freezer. The other more serious consideration was the freezer's specifications. I had to get it thru the very narrow doorway of the trailer. I could have fit a 3-cu ft freezer but The Danby 3.6-cu ft had the best reviews, cost a bit more, but fit the specifications for space. It came very well packaged.
