The opposite of what I'd call "naughty"
14 August 2013
Summary: Not in the least naughty. A very shy, unspectacular vanilla-scent. Powdery, light. Poor staying-power. Another generic scent. Nowadays only the various perfume bottles help to tell the scents apart. I guess the big firms like Coty and l'Oréal spend more money on the design of the vessels than on the perfumes themselves. A very sad trend.
Summary: I have to stop this: my bad habit of buying scents that I have not already tested. It is too expensive, and since the world of perfumes is infinite, or at least tremendously big I will never be able to test all the existing samples anyway. So my effort is meaningless, a bit like Sisyphus, climbing his mountain forever. So why on Earth do I keep on doing it? Purchasing new, unknown fragrances? A good example on why I love doing it is Naughty Alice.
Summary: Alice may appear naughty when inconsiderate of traditional ownership conceptions she picks pears off the nearest tree but she can be quite sweet (which she will not be happy to hear). After she is done with the orchard she lies down in a flowery meadow and waits for a musk deer to come along to play with. Together they suck on caramels and sniff on tree resins (benzoe, labdanum?) in a nearby wood.
Excerpt: "...looking bottle beautifully designed by Vivienne Westwood. The scent is a lovely floral, musky and oriental fragrance. At first it smells very fruity, it is the first thing I can detect, then afterwards it has a lovely afterscent of a musky oriental scent like patchouli and sandelwool. Its quite a strong perfume and I like my fragrance to be delicate and subtle, so I cant use a lot of it otherwise I find it too overpowering, however this is great ...
Pros: smells nice, very pretty bottle, free charm bracelet
Excerpt: "...of years ago is this Vivienne Westwood perfume, Naughty Alice. I was a bit unsure at the time when I was handed it as I haven't really ever been much of a Vivienne Westwood fan in clothing or anything really. However, being a gift, I couldn't not give it a try and so I said thanks and decided to try this out but I knew as soon as I sprayed it that this really wasn't me at all. I am going to give an unbiased review of this though as even though I don't ...
Excerpt: "I always thought of Vivian Westwood Perfumes being more for older people and thought that the Perfumes would be heavy smelling and for some reason I thought all her Perfumes would smell like Lily of the Valley. Not really sure why thought. I got a bottle of this as a present. Due to the price of this brand of Perfumes I couldn't see me going out and buying it just in case I didn't like it and would find it a huge waste of money. After looking ...
