Summary: Skin chemistry issue with this Vanilla rose amber patchouli by Maurice Roncel. My skin turns this into something too sweet, too plastic, artificial vanilla rose. My skin also doesn't always handle citrus well; here, it to become even more candied on me. I am not a fan of sweet scents or gourmands generally. I get the plastic doll head reference reviewers have mentioned below.
Summary: On my skin, Tocade just doesn't work. After an initial promising whiff of Rose and Vanilla, it simply turns putrid, the top notes muddied instead of enhancing each other, the heart florals acrid. Only the base works for me, but its beauty is destroyed by the unfortunately potent rest. It actually reminds me of cleaning fluid in a freshly-mopped hospital corridor. Don't know how in the world they managed to destroy these notes, but to my nose they did.
Summary: Tocade is a very pretty, rosy vanilla fragrance. It reminds me of rosewater scented candy. Unlike many of the other reviewers, I don't get much sillage from this scent. Instead it stays really close to my skin, which is nice in an office environment. The only thing I wish is that this fragrance lasted longer. I only get about four hours of wear out of it.
