Summary: Magie Noire was never a top fragrance choice for me. Through the years, it has become a cult classic, so I decided to revisit it and purchased a vintage bottle. I've worn it in two seasons before I've written this review, so I can feel I am accurately assessing my thoughts. Back when it was first released, I wasn't a huge fan of this or any of Lancome's perfumes.
Summary: I had tried to purchase Magic Noire several times at department stores, but was told Lancome is not carrying it anymore. I was pleasantly surprised to be able to order it through Fragrance X..and it came so quickly! This Magic Noire does not seem to hold it's scent as long as previous bottles I have had..I've worn this scent for many years.
Summary: I really enjoy the current formulation of Magie Noire by Lancome, so when I discovered that there was another fragrance that came before it, I ordered a sample almost straight away. Magie is one of those classics that really need to be brought back. The scent is heavy, powerful and reeking of confidence. It's quite a powdery scent, but not necessarily clean. I find it more animalic and slightly earthy. Magie tends to be rather sensual too, especially towards the drydown.
Summary: This fragrance used to be more powerful, not sure if that was due to the actual bottle I got, if it was old maybe? I remember it being dramatic and elegant, a little on the rich side and you had to be careful not to apply too much. This bottle was not as strong, and didn't seem to have the same elements, and I am wondering if it was just an old bottle that lost some of it's effect.
Summary: My wife has been using it since it was introduced. This scent always got my motor revving in high gear. If I have any complaints, the new packageing is not as nice as the original, black container was. Can't they bring it back?
Summary: I had no idea Lancome still sold this fragrance, that is how much I shop in department stores these days. Its a warm, slightly spicy sort of witchy ( in a good way ) scent... Very big back in the late 80s, when you'd get a small bottle with practically every gift-with-purchase from Lancome. Not something I would have purchased, but getting it for free in the gifts, I decided to use it, and found that it was the one perfume that everyone loved on me.
