Summary: Update: I can't stop thinking about this scent... It is that soft, mysterious, classy vanilla dry down that I am addicted to. Yes the initial smell after spraying it is not the most amazing to me but that dry down. And I can still smell it on my wrist after 16 hours. This is a true master piece.
Summary: To me Shalimar is, and always has been, a warm cashmere hug. For me, Shalimar is not citrus at any point while wearing it. In fact, I think I have an olfactory blind spot for the citrus notes in this, as I never smell them on any other person wearing Shalimar either.
Summary: This only becomes wearable after 2 hours on my skin. Before that it's too leathery, too harsh and quite masculine. My husband despised this. After I was wearing it for 1 hour he said it smells like an old hooker.
Summary: I was first introduced to this frag when I was about 27 years old. A lady at Macy's approached me and asked me if I had ever tried it. I said no. She handed me a test strip and I took a smell. I told her it smelled "mature" she looked at me and said "I think you can pull it off, may I?
Summary: This is my signature perfume. I wear this most days, to work, on dates, to family dinners etc & in all seasons. On me the leather and vanilla notes are strongest and I absolutely love the stuff. Here is what everyone ele has to say about it: 1) People I meet in bars LOVE it.
Summary: I was wow-ed by the intriguing combination of citrus, incense and a likable skanky note, leather perhaps. I loved the occasional touch of lime. But for me Shalimar went from like to love to dislike.
Summary: This perfume is one I had to try on skin to believe. I genuinely disliked the smell of it on a cardboard tester, but tonight for once I wasn't already wearing a fragrance, so I tried it directly on skin. Wow, this is beautiful.
Excerpt: I gave this 5 stars because I love the scent, from its opening citrus blast to its musky, powdery drydown. My only wish is that it had greater sillage and longevity - on me, it stays quite close to the skin and is hard to discern after the 3-hour mark.
