Summary: The jasmine in this is like the jasmine in Penhaligon's LP No9. It is all I can smell. I don't detect any vanilla or tonka or incense. I was really really hoping it would. I really enjoy Penhaligon's LP #9 and have a bottle so I ended up returning this because it didn't make sense to have 2 very similar smelling fragrances. Chemistry is everything with perfumes! I wanted to love this as much as everyone else on here...
Summary: I have tried and tried to like this perfume but I just can't. It's very strong and recognisable - but not in a good way. I don't quite know what it is about it but I literally wrinkle my nose every time I smell it. Not pleasant at all.
Summary: I can see why people don't like it because the smell is quite strong and heavy. I would say that the name befits it well. It's not a generic crowd-pleasing smell, yet it is so addictive. Kinda like how many addictive things such as smoking, drugs etc are a turn-off to many people in the beginning, but which soon become addictive.
Summary: I have a 50 ml bottle of orig formula. I find that this perfume gets stronger after a few hours and more so, once its mixed with body heat. It is sensational. It stays strong for at least 8 hours. Then lingers for hours and hours afterwards. It's a beautiful creamy boozy vanilla. Incredibly long lasting.
Summary: I have both this and the 2012 reformulation, and the new EDT is on my want list. They are all great, not much to add really, but of them all this one is perfection. 'Nuff said. I agree with the previous reviewer that they should bring this back as a pure perfume. It would sell like hotcakes!
Summary: A classic, but Not classical. Sexy and Original. Super Unique. Get it if you can. The mix of notes this one has is something so genius. I could smell this scent all day everyday and I would not get bored of it. When people come to my house I want them to smell Addict when they step in. This is such a beautiful scent.
Summary: When I sampled Dior Addict EDP, found it a bit cloying, but I enjoy vanilla in a fragrance, if it's done well, so I decided to wait until dry down before jumping ship with this one. Little did I know I set myself up for self-torture by not scrubbing this off immediately. By the time dry down occurred, the vanilla had escalated into a nauseating, sickening, sweet aroma.
Summary: This is my favourite fragrance ever, and it's unlike anything I've ever smelled, really. I've been wearing Dior Addict exclusively for about seven months now (commitment!) - spanning spring, summer, and fall seasons. Though it may be more easily classified as a "fall-winter" fragrance, I've loved it in the warmer months as well. It smells and feels like you're enveloped in a beautiful cloud.
Summary: I first encountered this on my grandmothers bathroom shelf, and I've loved it ever since. This is truly a special fragrance! A dark, juicy vanilla that I'm always in the mood to wear, and sometimes craves. It IS addicting and it always catches compliments. This one is so straight forward, matter of fact. I can't explain it any other way. It's just like: I smell amazing, end of story. Now lets do something great.
