  • Summary: Like others, I would think that the combination of notes in this would be my HG perfume, but my skin doesn't seem to pick up any of the vanilla at all. I tested it at a Dior counter, thankfully, so I can be assured it was authentic...and I was authentically disappointed! I know it smells lovely on others, but my skin just turns it into a horrible, muddy mess of "agh! in your face!" Like the previous review noted, it's very heady, a little too much--on me.

  • Summary: Went out perfume-less today and sprayed myself in Dior Addict in Debenhams. I love all the notes. I think it's classy and warm and a real gourmand without being sickly sweet. But I'm not buying it. Something about it just isn't right for me. I think it's too heady. It's almost too dark. A fantastic perfume, though ... Just not for me.

  • Summary: I LOVE THIS SCENT. It's so warm, classy, MAGICAL and unique. This scent is very "womanizing" and my husband loves it when I'm "wearing" it. I do like the "old" bottle better, and I think the scent has changed a littttttle bit, but it's still a MASTERPIECE.

  • Excerpt: My Mum love this fragrance. I always buy it for her as a present. It is fantastic and has long-lasting smell. It suits her perfectly as it isn't flowery and it isn't too sweet.
  • Pros: Great Smell, Long-Lasting, Not Overpowering
  • Cons: Too Expensive

  • Summary: The jasmine in this is like the jasmine in Penhaligon's LP No9. It is all I can smell. I don't detect any vanilla or tonka or incense. I was really really hoping it would. I really enjoy Penhaligon's LP #9 and have a bottle so I ended up returning this because it didn't make sense to have 2 very similar smelling fragrances. Chemistry is everything with perfumes! I wanted to love this as much as everyone else on here...

  • Summary: I have tried and tried to like this perfume but I just can't. It's very strong and recognisable - but not in a good way. I don't quite know what it is about it but I literally wrinkle my nose every time I smell it. Not pleasant at all.

  • Summary: I can see why people don't like it because the smell is quite strong and heavy. I would say that the name befits it well. It's not a generic crowd-pleasing smell, yet it is so addictive. Kinda like how many addictive things such as smoking, drugs etc are a turn-off to many people in the beginning, but which soon become addictive.

  • Summary: I have a 50 ml bottle of orig formula. I find that this perfume gets stronger after a few hours and more so, once its mixed with body heat. It is sensational. It stays strong for at least 8 hours. Then lingers for hours and hours afterwards. It's a beautiful creamy boozy vanilla. Incredibly long lasting.

  • Summary: I have both this and the 2012 reformulation, and the new EDT is on my want list. They are all great, not much to add really, but of them all this one is perfection. 'Nuff said. I agree with the previous reviewer that they should bring this back as a pure perfume. It would sell like hotcakes!
