What kind of laptop?

I want a laptop that has quite a bit of memory as I take a lot of digital photos and I want a computer that is FAST. My current computer runs slower than a turtle even though I have high speed internet. I need it to have a wireless card, Microsoft Office, and DVD/CD drive. The size of the monitor isn't a real issue for me, as long as it isn't tiny. I use my laptop for college so I would prefer that it didn't weigh too too much. And my color of preference is red! (I love the ruby red that Gateway has, it's gorgeous!). If anyone has any suggestions, please respond. I am looking to spend $1000 or less.
