Default "Toughbooks" versus regular notebooks

Are "rugged laptops" or "toughbooks" really worth all the hype? The Panasonic Toughbook, for instance, is a laptop computer created for extreme environments. It's designed to withstand drops (up to 90 centimeters from the surface, if I"m not mistaken), spills and extreme temperature. Judging by these features alone, do you think this one's a sensible buy?

More features of the Toughbook here. Let's discuss!

Default

Definitely. It's good for traveling and field work. It's built of magnesium case and designed with shock absorbing devices to prevent the computer from being crushed or damaged. In addition, it is spill-proof including its keyboard or touch pads and LCD screen. It's a really good investment.
