Default Notebook aesthetics (using the HP Pavilion 2800t as test case)

Just saw one of HP's most recent notebooks --- the HP Artist Edition (Pavilion 2800T). The features include:

* Windows Vista Home Premium (32-bit)
* Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T7500 (2.2GHz, 4MB L2 Cache, 667MHz FSB)
* 14.1" WXGA High-Definition HP BrightView Widescreen Display (1280 x 800)
* 2GB DDR2 System Memory (2 Dimm)
* NVIDIA 128MB 8400M GS Video Card
* HP Imprint (Artist Edition) Finish + Webcam + Microphone
* Integrated Altec Lansing stereo speakers
* Intel PRO/Wireless 4965AGN Network Connection and Bluetooth
* 250GB 5400RPM SATA Hard Drive
* LightScribe SuperMulti 8X DVD+/-RW with Double Layer Support
* 6-Cell Lithium Ion Battery
* Dimensions (with 6-cell battery): 13.15" (L) x 9.33" (W) x 1.02" (min H)/1.54" (max H)
* Weight: 5lb 7.4oz
* 65W AC adapter

And of course, the fancy laser-etched design that's sure to get you some attention.

What do you think of this new unit? Do aesthetics matter in this case?

For me, the aesthetics make this notebook even more tempting to buy. How much does this cost?

Let's look at it this way:

Do you really want to buy a notebook just because it has a laser-etched screen???

Or would you buy a notebook because of the features?

The latter part is the best reason, I should say!

I'd probably buy this product rather than the Apple MacBook Air because it's significantly cheaper but has a lot of features that I definitely like!

Speaking of aesthetics...has anybody seen the new VAIOs? Sony VAIO released a line that consists of red, green, yellow and white laptops.
