Okay, this will now be the official discussion thread for the much-talked about (you Windows fanatics can correct me if I'm wrong
Is this fancy, ultra thin notebook (the thinnest in the world so far) worth the money and the hype? For you Mac users, do you have your own or do you have any plans of buying one for yourself? Why or why not? Let's discuss! Okay, here are my comments: - It lacks the standard ports - only 1 DVI port, 1 USB port and 1 audio port. I simply CANNOT live with just one USB port. - I dislike the fact that it doesn't have a telephone port nor a LAN port. - The Bluetooth and Wifi features are, of course, pretty standard, IMO Your turn! |

this baby's so thin it can easily fit in a manila envelope --- this is one of the marketing lines i've heard over and over again. as a consumer, though, i'd probably need more than that to convince me to buy this mac notebook.
interestingly, some users, especially those in countries where there's warmer climate, have complained of overheating. i also know a macbook air user in thailand who has been raving and ranting about his unit's screen just getting "frozen" all of a sudden. those are just some of the things that i need to consider before i shell out a lot of money for the macbook air. also, storage is poor (80 GB --- OMG!!!) and the external drive is but optional *rolls eyes* am i just being too pessimistic or what? i really need to know exactly what one can get out of this expensive laptop! |

Looks can be deceiving at times. Even though the design of MacBook Air is revolutionary and unique (the thinnest of them all), I wouldn't buy it. Just found out that the battery can't be replaced easily which means it is very expensive, as well as the SSD-drive option.

I don't understand why people want to buy this thing. It's really useless in the sense that not all of the features are there. What's the point of buying this one for a steep price when you can't enjoy all the benefits of a 'real'- feature packed notebook in the first place?

In my opinion, a lot of people are buying this item just to show off. I mean, you don't go bragging about the system specs of your notebook computer to everyone so the mere fact that they're seeing you using a good looking gadget is enough to point out that you are gadget-savvy. This may sound like a shallow reason, but it's true for some...

I hate to admit it but Einstein made a valid point.

I'm sure Apple is taking note of all the reviews and comments by the users and non-users of the product. I am looking forward to the future models that the company will make with the suggested improvements applied.
