Question Is Linux going mainstream because of NETBOOKS?

Do you guys agree with this? Ever since these netbooks (UMPCs, ultraportables and whatever else they call them) came into the market, Linux has garnered more and more "mainstream" fans/consumers. These netbooks have been received pretty well, surprisingly.

However, are the netbooks really making Linux more mainstream?

I think there are more and more Linux fans and users these days. Not only because of these netbooks, really. People want to diversify and want to try "unpopular" or "uncommon" things.

Similarly, this is like asking whether or not MAC is going more mainstream than ever before. While we know that Windows dominates the market, people still opt to try Apple.

Same thing.
