Default How to get rid of Readyboost function?

I have a 4GB flash drive and planning to use it as temporary readyboost drive for my laptop. At first, its setup was fine and seemed to work. But, when I plugged the flash drive to my laptop, it automatically goes to readyboost. I’d like to use the flash drive for data storage now but I can’t. How do I retrieve my flash drive?

Try this. Open up your “Windows Explorer”. Go to “My Computer”. Right-click on the flash drive’s icon. Next, go to “Properties” and then to “Readyboost” tab. It should have configurations for turning ON or OFF this feature. I believe you will also have to set how much space for readyboost from your 4GB flash drive. Check this link PC World Community: Readyboost. It has a pdf version regarding readyboost. It would be good to keep as reference.

Hi Paule14! From what I know, you need to right click on the drive via the windows explorer window, then click on properties. There should be a tab for Readyboost. After that, click on the option that says "Do not use ready boost on this drive." Hope this helps!
