You can! Though it rarely happens because of the fact that laptops are typically taken in different locations which means that they are not connected to a network. But, there are methods available for laptop backups based on two different users. Business users having network access through LAN and those which has no access to LAN (home users or student).
If you belong to business users, you can back up your laptop data by connecting your laptop to the LAN either directly or by docking it you can transfer the data you want to backup to the local server or back up the disk to a writeable CD-ROM or DVD player which is often installed on modern laptops. Those users with no connection to LAN, back ups maybe through a remote storage facility using the Internet. Check this site Organize Your Laptop Backup, Backups for Laptops! for more info. |

in addition to what tamia said, you can also back up your data by using an external hard drive. there's actually a related thread about that here in www.testfreaks.com/forum. go to the computer hardware category
in any case...yeah, you can use an external hard drive. the price depends on the capacity of the hard drive. so far i think the largest capacity available these days is 320 GB. in order for you to back up your data, all you need to do is plug that external hard drive to your laptop via USB cable (this comes free with your purchase of external hard drive). it's a plug and play scheme, really. don't forget to format the hard drive though before you use it! |

No, I think it is absolutely wrong perception that laptop’s data cannot be recovered. I think data recovery service provider like DiskEmergency.com Flat Rate Data Recovery Service Center will definitely helps in this matter. You should go through this atleast once.
