Default Bandwidth getting hacked???

Is there a way for me to know if my bandwidth is getting hacked or being used by someone else? I have a nasty feeling that someone's messing with my Internet connection. It takes me too damn long to download a 1GB file!!!

There are lots of free speed testing websites out there. Check your speed using any of those websites.

Alternatively, you can check your router's configuration and logs. See whether someone's "piggy backing" or trying to steal away bandwidth from you.

Good luck man

Are you using DSL? Broadband? Wireless Fidelity? I'm guessing you're using Wi-Fi because you posted in the notebook category but I'd still wanna be sure

You can always set your router's settings and limit the settings in such a way that only those that are within your perimeter can access the Internet. Have you tried calling your service provider? There are times when access can be restricted or slowed down. Or in certain cases, downloading a file may take longer especially if you're downloading it from a server that's halfway across the world.
