Default shutting down constantly

When i turned my computer on, i noticed that my CPU was running at 180 degrees F, so i went out to buy some thermal paste, applied it, and all was good for a while.

But after 4 hours, my system started shutting down constantly.
Is this a problem with the paste? Or should i go buy another fan? Or is it my cpu?

My computer specs, evga nforce 680i sli motherboard intel celeron dual core cpu 8800GT graphics card 750w power supply 350g hard drive

thanks for the help...

what cooler is on your cpu? is it the stock one? what kind of case do you have? are the fans running in it? do the vents need cleaned? there are many variables that need to be addressed before I can really answer.. and do you know the temperatures with the new thermal paste?
