Question Re-usable Specs, still?

I’m planning to purchase a Bare Bones Desktop. Is it secure if I still use my old 40G IDE primary drive and ATI Radeon AGP 9600 graphics board from my other desktop? The specs are still in good condition. Later, I’m planning also to upgrade to dual or quad core processor, better graphics and drivers. I would appreciate any ideas and comments. Thank you.

Personally, I think it’s best you don’t use them on your new desktop. It would be very risky installing them. Your specs are already quite old hardware. It’s like degrading your planned new upgraded pc system. In addition, you could not find many AGP graphics boards nowadays. There are much better than AGP. As for your 40G IDE primary drive, I would suggest you buy a dual SATA to give room for your cd or dvd drives. Later, you can just upgrade to a much larger and better ones.
