Default no power

Hello there,

I was using my computer and everything was fine. Need more outlet space so I shutdown the machine, unplugged it from the wall outlet and put in a powerstrip. Plugged the computer into powerstrip and pushed "power"...nothing, no fan, power up, not a thing.

So I found a way to plug my computer directly into the outlet again. Pressed power, again, nothing.

Then I went nuts. I opened my case, checked all connections, PSU to MOB, Power Switch to MOB, checked for blown capacitors on the motherboard, checked power supply for any kind of burning smell or any scorching...nothing.

At one point I removed all the panels from my case to check if the wires connecting to the power switch had somehow broken free. That was inconclusive as I found they were sealed with gobs of glue.

So I have no idea what it could be as my machine never gave me any signs that something was wrong and even after still isn't giving me any clues. If anyone has any ideas I'd appreciate it.

Thanks!

sounds like the PSU up and died on you for some reason.. best bet is to swap it out for another to test it... do you have a spare? or maybe know someone with one who you could borrow it from to swap them out?

or if you have a PSU tester you can use that as well...
