Default Laptop coolers: plastic or rubberized?

Is there a difference between using a laptop or notebook cooler that's made out of plastic or one that's rubberized? Thought of asking this because I don't want to buy the plastic one just because it's cheaper. Any ideas?

I suggest that you take the rubberized laptop cooler. Plastic laptop coolers may have the risk of melting under extreme heat conditions
