Hi Tamia, I can help you somehow. I have read an article lately on how to make your TV shopping fun
The three things that determine how to buy a flat-panel TV is application, price and size. As for size, measure room proportions to determine screen size, careful never to stuff a home theater set into a small area. The optimal length from you to your TV means doubling your screen size. So if you are buying a 50-inch TV, then your distance from the TV should be about 100 inches , roughly nine feet. Cautions against buying on the cheap, lower-end brands can cost more in the long run. Some of these brands are disposable, which means no parts or service. Warranty plans can be "pure profit" for stores, because malfunctions usually happen right after purchase. |

Size and price aren't the only considerations, and this is where it can get confusing. Probably the biggest question we get is what is the difference between LCD and plasma TVs.
A plasma will do slightly better in a basement or a darker room. 42-inch is a popular screen size. An LCD screen cannot burn, but a plasma can. If you have an image on the screen for a long time then you could see a burn-in on the screen. There is circuitry in the TV to help reduce it, but if it's too severe you'll see a burn-in of the image on the screen at all times after that. I hope the information helped you somehow. ^_^ |
