Need some advice guys. I want to replace my Sony XL-2100U Lamp for my LCD TV. This is my first replacement so I don't have any idea on how, where and what are the things necessary to consider for replacing my lamp. I don't want to end up buying the low quality lamps, so anyone willing to guide me?
Thanks in advance. |

Hi Emilio,
Piece of advice: Do not purchase generic brand lamps such as LTI, APO or third-party manufacturers such as OSRAM. These lamps were NOT engineered with and for your TV…only your Philips lamp has been engineered to work flawlessly and output the best possible color. Above that, it just doesn’t make sense to choose an aftermarket lamp for a $5-$10 difference. Be a smart consumer and do your research somehow. For installation, I advice you to get an expert. Though it is easy to install, some models of television might be more difficult than others. Usually, it should be as much or little as twisting a screwdriver, pulling the lamp out, inserting the new one, and turning the set back on. This is definitely something to ask about before buying your television. Well, you can always buy the Sony XL-2100 replacement lamp rather than getting another brand. The price range is from $125 - $300. I'm not sure if this is within your budget range.
We think sometimes that we save money if we buy generic products because it costs less but with a short shelf life, we wound up buying about 2 or 3 within a short span of time. Better be sure with the original product instead. and of course, contact an authorized technician to do the replacement. |
