Talking Ghosting

Hi, I have a sony kdf e50a12u lcd tv. When the virgin box is connected through the HDMi cable the picture is excellent. When the playstation 3 is connected through the same cable and same socket, there is ghosting arond the characters on screen. The same happens with the x-box 360 which is connected through the RGB sockets. Can anyone help, THANX :-)

It could just be electrical interference. Try plugging it into a different outlet. Double check your HDMI cable if it has achieved the standard issue. Avoid using cheap cables. They might be just as cheap quality. Check also your tv settings or your display output in the ps3. If ghosting still appears, try using/plugging the original composite cables for your PS3. Try to plug your ps3 direct to your tv with the cable.

You are experiencing called a ground loop.
There is a solution to this. First, what you need is to unplug everything that has the same path to the ground such as your tv, ps3, cable box, antennae connection, cdvd players. Second, check each of your devices’ cable plugs/prongs/cords. You can remove the path to ground the PS3 has, in other words, “float” it. Do this by breaking the ground prong off the other end of your PS3’s cable before plugging it into a suppressor or extension cord. This is readily available in electronic shops/stores. In my experience, it’s better to just plug what you would like to use. There is a tendency that over plugging appliance items not used at the moment would cause to over distribution of current in the extension cord or outlet.
